Deutsch Connect Café Launches in Yenagoa, Opens Pathways to Germany for Bayelsa Youths

FIC Report (Bayelsa State) – A new hub for German language learning and cultural exchange, Deutsch Connect Café, has opened in Yenagoa, offering residents of Bayelsa State access to international education and career opportunities.

Located at AfricanTide House in Kpansia, the café operates from Monday to Saturday, starting at 11:00 a.m. It is open to students, professionals, educators, civil servants, and individuals interested in Germany, including beginners with no prior knowledge of the German language.

Beyond traditional classroom learning, the centre provides an engaging environment designed to promote language acquisition and global exposure. Key offerings include German language practice sessions to build confidence in speaking, as well as cultural exchange activities featuring music, storytelling, and interactive discussions.

Participants also gain access to information on scholarships, exchange programmes, vocational training, and academic opportunities in Germany. The café further enhances learning through games, networking sessions, quizzes, and other social activities.

Organisers say the initiative aims to nurture “a generation of globally connected individuals in Bayelsa State.” Plans are also underway to host special sessions with alumni of German universities and partners of the Goethe-Institut, alongside cultural events and community outreach programmes.

With increasing interest among Nigerian youths in Germany due to its affordable education system and skilled migration prospects, Deutsch Connect Café is positioning itself as a gateway for young people seeking international advancement in a supportive and beginner-friendly setting.
