FG to deepen partnership with traditional rulers for national unity

Lagos State Govt. Seeks FG’s Support In Addressing Industrial Pollution

FIC Report (Nasarawa State) – Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima has said that the Federal Government under the current administration will continue to work closely with traditional rulers, as the custodian of their tradition to ensure sustainable peace, security and unity of the nation.

He disclosed this at the 70th valedictory of the emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Mohammad in lafia, on Monday.

Shettima stated that the Tinubu administration recognises the critical role of traditional institutions in promoting social cohesion, conflict resolution and grassroots development.

He described them as custodians of the nation’s traditions and cultural heritage, to ensure sustainable peace, security and national unity.

He said government would continue to remain committed to strengthening collaboration with them in building a peaceful and united Nigeria.

The Vice President said traditional rulers as partners of progress, always play a key role in maintaining peace and security among their subjects despite the religious tribal differences.

He said federal government would continue to recognise the juris as father of the nation considering the role he played in maintaining the peace and unity of the country especially when he is at the bar, bench and as the traditional.

He commended the justice Sidi Bage Mohammad for serving the humanity and urged him to sustained the tempo.

In his remarks, the governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state said the day is a very special to the entire people of state and assured that he will emulate all the deeds been examplified by the emir of Lafia and wished him many more years ahead on the throne.

Also speaking, the emir of Lafia, justice Sidi Bage Mohammad appreciated God for spearing his life to witness this day and pledged his continued support to the government to enable them address the security challenges bedeviled the country.

The Vice President inaugurated some projects in Lafia, which includes, kilema bridge, multi purpose hall in the palace and newly constructed roads, among others.
