A coordinated security operation by the police was carried out in the early hours of Sunday at Oko Filling Bus Stop along LASU Road in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State, targeting a suspected criminal hideout within the area.
The operation involved a significant deployment of security personnel and focused on the waste disposal site, which security sources reportedly identified as a hideout for suspected criminal elements. During the exercise, the dump site was set ablaze as part of efforts to dislodge the suspects.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing sporadic gunshots during the operation, while fire service personnel were deployed to the scene. The exercise also led to temporary traffic disruption along the affected section of LASU Road.
Reports indicate that several suspects were apprehended during the operation. However, the Lagos State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement confirming the number of arrests, items recovered, or other operational details.
As of the time of this report, there were no confirmed reports of civilian casualties or injuries. The operation is understood to be part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to combat criminal activities and enhance public safety across the state.
Further updates will be provided as official information becomes available.
