In a major drive to eliminate the performance-expectation gap between government and citizens, the SERVICOM Office has spearheaded the official inauguration of the Parastatal SERVICOM Unit/Parastatal SERVICOM Committee (PSU/PSC) at the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC). This strategic initiative, championed by SERVICOM to add direct value to the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, established a critical foundation for delivering timely, transparent, and exceptional quality of service to all existing and potential investors.

Delivering the keynote address at the Head Office of the NIPC in Abuja on 9th July, 2026, Mrs. Helen Lawal, the Acting National Coordinator and CEO of the SERVICOM Office, commended the NIPC Management’s enthusiasm. She noted that their active commitment was “vital to entrenching a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring quality, timely services for all stakeholders”.

Mrs. Lawal explained that SERVICOM was conceived to manage the performance-expectation gap between the government and its citizens. She emphasized that the core focus rested entirely on the “quality of contact” between service providers like the NIPC and service takers, including potential and existing investors.

She disclosed that in order to achieve that, the SERVICOM Office coordinated efforts across public agencies to implement quality Service Charters and conduct customer satisfaction surveys. She noted that, within the NIPC, that mandate directly impacted critical regulatory functions, such as registering enterprises with foreign participation and managing annual operational status renewals.

The Acting National Coordinator asserted, “Service is what we offer ourselves for and service is what the people are entitled to expect from us”. She added that “Customers have the right to be served right.”

Speaking at the conclusion of the event, the Director Human Resources of the Commission, Mr. Bashir Mukhtar who had been decorated as SERVICOM Champion, re-echoed those core values, emphasizing that excellent public service was beyond policy frameworks. He stated that “it required daily demonstrations of professionalism, integrity, and responsiveness to build trust and strengthen institutional credibility”.

He also extended gratitude to the SERVICOM facilitators for sharing vital insights on cultivating an efficient, accountable, and people-centered service culture.

Turning his attention to the newly inaugurated committee members; a cross-departmental network of officers, Mr. Mukhtar congratulated them on their roles and tasked them with developing the NIPC Service Charter, sensitizing staff on SERVICOM principles, and managing both internal and external customer experiences.

In a final charge to the entire NIPC workforce, Mr. Mukhtar opined that the true success of the event was in daily execution. He urged staff “to view every interaction with investors, colleagues, and stakeholders as an opportunity to showcase the courtesy and efficiency that defined a world-class public institution”.
