
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON, has once again demonstrated his commitment to staff welfare by donating two buses to members of staff of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, OSGF.
The Permanent Secretary (GSO) Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana mni who representated the Secretary to the Government of the Federation at
the donation ceremony held today Friday, 10th July 2026 at the OSGF premises in Abuja described the gesture as a clear demonstration of fatherly love, care and appreciation.
Presenting the buses, Senator Akume said the gesture is aimed at easing transportation challenges for staff and boosting morale and productivity within the Office. He noted that staff remain the engine room of government and deserve support that promotes their well-being in-line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
“This is my own little way of showing love and appreciation to you all for your dedication, loyalty and hard work in service to our nation. I encourage you to continue to give your best in the discharge of your duties,” the SGF stated.
He further urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the buses and ensure they are properly maintained for the collective benefit of staff.
In his remarks, representatives of staff and the Chairman of Joint Council Union, Comrade Paul Idowu expressed gratitude to the SGF for the kind gesture. He described the donation as unprecedented and a clear demonstration of Senator Akume’s fatherly disposition and people-oriented leadership.
On behalf of the staff, he pledged to reciprocate the gesture with renewed commitment, diligence and patriotism in the performance of their duties.
The presentation ceremony was witnessed by some top management staff of the OSGF and some party faithful of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Benue State led by its Chairman, Mr. Austin Agada.
