Lagos State Government Donates To Nigeria Immigration Service

Lagos State Govt. Seeks FG’s Support In Addressing Industrial Pollution

FIC Report (Lagos State) – The Lagos State government through, Lagos State security trust fund donated a 28 seater bus and 60 raincoat jacket to the Nigeria immigration service, to enhance the command’s mobility and personnel welfare.

At the presentation, the Comptroller of immigration, Lagos State command, Christopher Olu Onajinrin, disclosed that, the command has repatriated 128 irregular migrants from Lagos within the last two weeks.

According to Onajinrin, the repatriated migrants were nationals of cameroon, Chad and Burkina Faso.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the controller general of immigration, Kemi Nandap, Onajinrin described the intervention as timely and strategic, noting that, it would significantly strengthen the command’s operational capabilities.

He explained that repatriation exercise require extensive logistics, particularly transportation, making the newly donated bus a major boost, to the command’s enforcement operations and personnel deployment.

Earlier at the presentation ceremony, the executive secretary and chief executive officer of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, commended the Nigeria Immigration service for its commitment to safeguarding Lagos through effective migration management and border security.

He reiterated that, the trust would continue to invest strategically in security agencies whose responsibility are critical to keeping Lagos State safe.

The donation according to LSSTF, reflects the Lagos State government’s commitment to strengthening the state’s security architecture by equipping agencies responsible for boarder management and protection of security threats.
