The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Republic of Korea, Her Excellency, Ambassador (Prof.) Nora Ladi Daduut, has formally presented her Letters of Credence to His Excellency, President Lee Jae Myung of the Republic of Korea, during a solemn diplomatic ceremony held at the Blue House in Seoul on Wednesday, 22 July 2026.

During the audience, Ambassador Daduut conveyed the warm fraternal greetings of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to the longstanding partnership between the two countries.
She also congratulated President Lee Jae Myung on the first anniversary of his Presidency and highlighted the enduring strategic partnership between Nigeria and the Republic of Korea, noting that both countries have enjoyed cordial and mutually beneficial relations for over 45 years.

Underscoring the strategic and economic significance of the bilateral relationship, Ambassador Daduut commended the Republic of Korea’s remarkable development achievements, describing it as one of Asia’s leading economic powers and a valued partner whose experience and expertise Nigeria seeks to leverage in advancing its national development priorities.

In furtherance of this shared vision of mutual growth and cooperation, the Ambassador conveyed Nigeria’s earnest invitation to President Lee Jae Myung to undertake an official State Visit to Nigeria at a mutually convenient date. She expressed confidence that such a visit would further strengthen the bonds of friendship, expand bilateral cooperation, and deepen diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In his remarks, President Lee Jae Myung warmly welcomed Ambassador Daduut and requested that she convey his heartfelt fraternal greetings to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the people of Nigeria. He reaffirmed the Republic of Korea’s commitment to strengthening engagement with Nigeria as one of its principal economic partners in Africa, emphasizing the importance of advancing cooperation that promotes mutual growth, shared prosperity, and sustainable development.
