FIC Report (Oyo State) – The News Agency of Nigeria has conducted its annual promotion examination for the qualified members of its staff in the Southwest zone of the country.
The examination, conducted on Wednesday 6th of August, 2026, took place at the Ibadan Field office of the agency.
The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) is a parastatal of the Federal Government, under the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
The Ibadan centre for the examination attended to qualified candidates from Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti and Kwara States of the Federation.
20 candidates sat for the examination in Ibadan to fill vacancies, which range from reporters on grade level 8 to deputy editor-in-chief on grade level 16. The vacancies vied for included senior reporters, assistant editors, editors, deputy editor-in-chiefs, photojournalists, marketing executives and administrative officers. Among the candidates who sat for the examination at the Ibadan Centre was the current Chairman of the Oyo State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Comrade Akeem Abass.
The examiners, who came from the headquarters of the Agency in Abuja, were led by Mrs. Bolaji Jangbadi of the department of Planning, Research and Statistics. She was assisted by Mrs. Temidayo Oso from the Administrative department, and Mr. Mufutau Ojo of the Editorial department, Abuja.
The examination which was commenced at 10:30am, ended at 12:30pm.
