Osun Government Approves Establishment Of Joint Security TaskForce (JTF)

FIC REPORT (OSUN STATE) – The Osun state government has approved the establishment of a Joint Security Taskforce JTF, to early warning systems against threats to lives and properties across the state.

The Governor of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke who was represented by his Deputy,Prince Kola Adewusi together with the security council took this decision during their meeting in Osogbo.

In the commencement of the meeting, Prince Kola conveyed the Governor’s goodwill to the Service Commanders and praised them for their steadfastness during security challenges within the state.

“The governor is committed to providing all necessary logistics to ensure a smooth take-off of the JTF and to further empower security agencies to protect residents,allay their fears and make the state remain safe and secured “, the deputy governor said.

He also called on the traditional rulers to sustain local security in their different domains.

The residents have also been urged to be extral vigilant, particularly in churches, mosques and schools with stakeholders tasked to put additional security measures around their premises, timely intelligence sharing by residents to help security agencies forestall possible attacks by suspected terrorists and bandits.

In the same vein,the Nigeria Police in conjunction with other security agencies were directed to be on 24 hour red alert to curtail threats and agreement was reached by the ministry of Justice, the Nigeria Police and the DSS in ensuring that all suspects are properly investigated and prosecuted without delay.

The newly deployed Commissioner of police,Ibrahim Zungura was also in attendance and commended for instituting policing reforms since his assumption of office in the state.

The Deputy governor was accompanied by the Attorney general,Hon Wole Jimi Bada, Head of Service Elder Ayanleye and special adviser on security, Mr Samuel Ojo.
