FIC REPORT (KADUNA STATE) – The Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, today hosted three Federal Commissioners representing the seven North-Western states at the Federal Civil Service Commission on a courtesy visit at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.
The Commissioners were Himdatu Umar Abdullahi, representing Kaduna and Katsina; Ambassador Aminu Nagebu, representing Kano and Jigawa; and Alhaji Shehu Aliyu, representing Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara.
Speaking during the visit, Abdullahi said the Commissioners were in Kaduna for the 2026 Directorate-Level Examination for staff of the Federal Civil Service Commission from Levels 14 to 17 across the seven states.
She said the examination was successfully conducted at the JAMB CBT Examination Centre, Kaduna.
She explained that the Commission had transitioned from paper-based examinations to computer-based examinations in line with the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the move as part of efforts to modernise the Federal Civil Service examination process.
Abdullahi noted the cordial relationship between the Federal Civil Service Commission and the Kaduna State Civil Service Commission, and commended the Kaduna State Government under Governor Uba Sani for its developmental efforts across various sectors. She said the Commission was pleased to identify with the progress being recorded in the state.
Responding, Deputy Governor Balarabe, who extended Governor Uba Sani’s warm welcome to the Commissioners, congratulated the Federal Civil Service Commission on the successful conduct of the examination.
She particularly commended the decentralisation of the examination, which enabled eligible officers from the seven North-Western states to sit for the examination in Kaduna rather than travel to Abuja.
According to her, the arrangement was a thoughtful step that took into consideration the safety, convenience and wellbeing of participating civil servants.
The Deputy Governor said institutional strengthening was one of the pillars of the administration’s SUSTAIN Agenda, noting that the government had prioritised the welfare and capacity development of civil servants because of their critical role in implementing government policies and development programmes.
She reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to strengthening public institutions and creating an environment that enables civil servants to effectively discharge their responsibilities.
The courtesy visit was attended by the Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, Dr Abdulkadir Meyere; Head of Service, Jummai Bako; Chairman and Permanent Commissioners of the Kaduna State Civil Service Commission; other Commissioners and senior government officials.
