The North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network has announced plans to hold a mega political rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, to demonstrate the region’s collective support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, in the 2027 general elections.

The rally, which will be hosted by the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule, will be headlined by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON.

The announcement followed a high-level meeting held today, 8th October, 2026 in Abuja of North Central APC stakeholders chaired by the National Chairman, All Progressive Congress (APC) Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe and was attended by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON, governors and deputy governors from the region, ministers, members of the National Assembly and other political office holders.

Briefing journalists at the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Yilwatda began by expressing condolences to the families of victims of the recent Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State, as well as the families of those who lost their lives in the recent mining-related tragedy in Niger State.

He extended his sympathies to the bereaved families and affected communities, describing the incidents as painful losses.

Turning to the outcome of the meeting, the APC National Chairman disclosed that governors, ministers, legislators and other political stakeholders from the North Central region had unanimously agreed to fully mobilise their respective political structures and supporters for the rally.

He described the planned gathering as the “mother of all rallies,” explaining that its central objective was to demonstrate the region’s collective commitment to the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima in 2027.

According to the National Chairman, the meeting reflected a shared determination among participating stakeholders to coordinate their activities and strengthen grassroots engagement in support of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket.

The meeting acknowledged the leadership of Senator George Akume in bringing together political stakeholders from across the North Central region and commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for hosting the rally in Nasarawa State.

Stakeholders also welcomed the participation of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as the headline guest. They reviewed arrangements for the participation of party leaders, women, youth groups, grassroots organisations and supporters from across the six North Central states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The meeting concluded with a unanimous reaffirmation of the participating stakeholders’ commitment to the successful hosting of the Lafia rally and their support for the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima in the 2027 general elections.
