Abia State (FIC Umuahia) – Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has sworn-in Sir Uchenna Dike and Comrade Christopher Okpara as new Permanent Secretaries into the State Civil Service.
Speaking at the ceremony at Government House, Umuahia, Governor Ikpeazu charged the two new Permanent Secretaries to show deep commitment to the assignment of taking Abia to the next level of development through the civil service. He said that success and failures of government depend largely on them and described their elevation as Permanent Secretaries as strategic milestones in their career which demands seriousness.
Governor Ikpeazu, who stated that the task of taking Abia State to the next level is sacred, stressed the need for the Permanent Secretaries to work diligently in ensuring that the State secures a sustainable future for its teeming populace.
He called on the newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries to lead by example and expressed confidence that with experiences garnered, they would perform creditably in the discharge of their duties.
In his acceptance speech on behalf of his colleague, Sir Uchenna Dike, who is the immediate past Director General of the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State, assured the Governor of their loyalty and commitment in the development of the State through effective service delivery.
He appreciated the Governor for appointing them Permanent Secretaries, describing it as rare privilege and promised not to disappoint government and people of the State.
Secretary to Government, Barrister Chris Ezem, State Head of Service Sir Onyii Wamah, Members of the Abia State Executive Council and others were part of the event.
