The Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) and the Progressives Congress of Nigeria’s Governors, led by the Progressives Chairman and Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has condemned all acts of violence in Nigeria particularly the recent killings in Plateau State.
Governor Bagudu alongside the Governor of Jigawa State, Abubakar Badaru and the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, made their position known when they paid a condolence visit to the Governor of Plateau State, Governor Simon Lalong over the attack on the people of Mangu and Bokkos, and the gruesome murder of Ropvil Daciya, a student of the University of Maiduguri by Boko Haram recently.
They condemned the killings in its entirety and expressed their willingness to work with the Governor to ensure that the hard earned peace being enjoyed in the State is not truncated.
Governor Bagudu appreciated the pragmatic development by Governor Lalong in the State, extolling the leadership qualities exhibited by the Governor towards restoring peace in the State.
He also commended the Security Agencies in their continuous support in protecting lives and property and called on the people to support their Governor.
While responding, Governor Lalong intimated them that he has initiated a lot of measures in the area of early warning signals, operation rainbow, peace building and dialogue, and reconciliation all aimed at bringing back peace to the State and has held a series of meetings with all Ardos and the Community Leaders to consolidate on the gains of peace.
