Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti has assured Abians of better days ahead as he is determined and poised to work for them
The Governor gave the assurance during a Special Thanksgiving Service organized to appreciate God for a successful election and Inauguration in the State at the Trademore Event Center, Umuahia, with the Theme, “The Lord Has Done Great Things For Us”.
He assured that Ndi Abia will soon rejoice as his administration will lift the poor Abia Masses out of poverty stressing that this is the time for Abia people to rejoice.
He thanked God for the marvelous work He has done for him, assuring that he would not take God’s grace for granted.
Governor Otti also thanked the Governorship Candidates of some opposition parties in the State for supporting him and called on others that are in the Tribunal with him to sheathe their swords as the Labour Party clearly won the election.
Earlier in his remarks, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the just concluded general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, reminded Governor Otti that his victory was made possible only by the grace of God and advised him not to abuse the privilege. He enjoined the Governor to always carry the poor and the down trodden in Abia along in his policies and programmes, stressing that Pensioners, Civil Servants and others should feel the positive impact of his governance. He also requested for sustained prayers by all for a better Nigeria while regretting that Nigeria’s leadership is still in the hands of the wrong people.
In his sermon (taken from Luke Chapter 17 11-19,which dwelt on Thanksgiving, the Lead Pastor of Streams Of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze stressed the need for people to always return thanks to God, saying that some people get familiar with God that they forget to give thanks as required. The servant of God said that the change of government in Abia State is only a healing but because of the Thanksgiving, God would make the State whole.
He prayed that God would bring wholeness to every sector of Abia economy and declared that because of the pecial Thanksgiving organized by Dr. Alex Otti’s administration, Abia’s case would be different as the Lord would make every area of the State to be significant.
The Special Thanksgiving Service which featured special prayers for Governor Alex Otti, his Deputy, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu and Abia State attracted the presence of the Wife of the Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Adaeze Emetu, Secretary to the Abia State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, the Head of Service of Abia State, Sir Onyii Wamah, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Dr. Caleb Ajagba, Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants to the Governor, the State Chairman of the Labour Party, Chief Ceekay Igara, Permanent Secretaries, Church Leaders, Party Stakeholders among others.
