Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has sworn in three new judges into the Abia State Judiciary with a charge on them to ensure that the dispensation of Justice in the State is heightened for the common good of all.
Dr. lkpeazu speaking after the administration of the oath of allegiance on the new judges, Justice Chimezie Chido Nwakanma, Justice Philomena Onyedi Nweke and Justice Phoebe Alvan Okoronkwo by the State Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Barr. Uzoamaka Ikonne at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Umuahia said this has become necessary as the Judiciary has always being the last hope for the common man.
The Governor represented by his Deputy Sir. Ude Oko Chukwu noted that, the three Judges having successfully passed through the processes of selection up to the NJC level and approved to be sworn in as Justices of the State High Court, they should abide by their oath of office to ensure that the essence of their being elevated will be actualized in the State and used the forum to congratulate them, wishing them success.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, Justice Chimezie Chido Nwakanma while expressing their gratitude to the Governor and Abians for the trust bestowed upon them, promised not to take it for granted but to do their best to ensure that the administration and dispensation of Justice in the State is carried out accordingly.
The State’s Chief Judge, Justice Onuoha Ogwe, the President of Abia State Customary Court, Justice Anyalewechi Onwuchekwa, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Uche Ihediwa, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. ACB Agbazuere, the Deputy Chief of Staff, office of the Deputy Governor, Sir. Don Ubani, the State HOS, Sir. Onyi Wamah, Top Govt officials and legal luminaries witnessed the swearing in ceremony.
