The Director-General, Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Dr. Adebowale A. Adedokun advocates for seamless Procurement Processes for the implementation of the National Home Grown School Feeding Program.

Dr. Adebowale stated this during the inauguration of members of the National Steering Committee on the implementation of the school feeding program at the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs in Abuja

The Honourable Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs & Poverty Allevation and Chairman of the Steering Committee , Dr. Yusuf Sununu, while welcoming the Steering Committee members in his office, made it known that the programme is an inter-ministerial collaboration on home feeding program and to activate other MDAs to be part of the mandate of hi Ministry.

Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu said the program has suffered a setback over the years and is now geared to solving the problems of transparency and accountability, among others.

He also emphasized that documented evidence must be put in place in discharging this duty so as to achieve the desired outcome, which is in line with the 7 points agenda and core mandate of Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.

The DG BPP, in his response stated that this collaboration will help in reducing corruption, make procurement processes easy, and a desk will be dedicated to the program.

Adding that, no matter how well monies are made available, the instrument that will be used to deliver the expected result is an innovative, efficient procurement practice.

He also emphasizes that, if the program is properly implemented, it can significantly reduce insecurity in the country as parents of these children can properly monitor their children if either in school or not, since they would not have to worry about the feeding of such children.

He further assures that the BPP is 100% in support of the initiative and also creates an innovative manner, a procurement that will not only fast track but also monitor and evaluate procurement processes. an electronic system will also be deployed. BPP will also conduct a surveillance at the end and conduct an audit, which is part of the Bureau core responsibility.
