FIC Report (Benue State) – The Association of Heads of Federal Establishments (AHFE) on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, elected new executive officers to steer the affairs of the association for a period of two years.
The offices contested and winners elected are as follows:
Chairman: Mr. Philip Abumere, Head of the Nigeria Natural Regulatory Authority
Vice Chairman: Mrs. Irene Iveren Onehi, Head of the Federal Information Centre, Makurdi
Secretary: Mrs. Patience Kershaw, Head of the National Library of Nigeria
Assistant Secretary: Mrs. Hawa Nyigba, Pharmacists Council of Nigeria
Financial Secretary: Mr. Aliyu Mammed, Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency
Assistant Financial Secretary: Mrs. Mantoe Shakie Sunday, Head of the National Identity Management Commission
Treasurer: Mr. Iveren Abel-Ugbir, Head of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council
Public Relations Officer: Mrs. Gloria Iveren Bai, Head of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP)
Chief Whip: Engr. Edwin, Controller, Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development
The newly elected officials were inaugurated by the Legal Adviser of the Association, Barr. Joyce I. Pius Iorember.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman, Mr. Philip Abumere, assured members that his administration would be inclusive and transparent, emphasizing accountability as the cornerstone of the new executive. He stated that AHFE would work towards gaining recognition and stronger engagement with all relevant stakeholders in Benue State.
Mr. Abumere called on members to contribute progressive ideas that would move the Association to greater heights. Addressing concerns regarding the Association’s school, he promised that the status of the school would be made public once the executive formally commences activities.
He concluded by wishing all members a Merry Christmas in advance.
