DAURA, KATSINA STATE – (Office of the President’s Wife Report) – The Wife of the President, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has advised the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider only card-carrying members for political appointments. She made the call at a dinner to celebrate the victory of the President at Daura on Thursday March 7, 2019.
The report from the Publicity Deprtment of the Office of the President’s Wife indicates that the event which took place at the Daura Stadium attracted women and youth supporters of the APC from across Katsina State.
In her speech at the occasion, Aisha Buhari noted that the constitution of the party specifies that appointments to offices in an APC – led government should go to card-carrying members, advising that the party constitution should be respected.
She expressed appreciation for the support that the party enjoyed in the last Presidential election, especially from women and youth and assured them that the Government will do more to improve their lives.
“I wish to thank the women and youth of this country for the number of votes they gave to President Buhari in the 2019 election and to assure them that he will continue to do his best to make Nigeria a better country,” she said.
While speaking at the event, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika (Sen) praised the electorate for choosing President Buhari whose integrity, he described as time-tested. He assured them that the second tenure will result in development in all spheres of endeavor. He also commended Aisha Buhari for her initiative in engaging women and youth during the presidential campaign which resulted in the massive votes recorded.
Good will messages were delivered by many politicians, including the Woman Leader of the APC Women and Youth Presidential Campaign Team, Binta Muazu and Fatuhu Mohammed, who is the Senator representing Daura Zone. Other activities included performances by different artisites.
The event was attended by the Wife of the Governor of Katsina State, Zakiyya Masari and the Wiife of the Deputy Governor, Mannir Yakubu as well as the Wife of the Minister of Interior, Hadiza Dambazau.
