AMAC Chairman Garners Support As He Strives For Second Tenure Re-Election

FIC Report (Abuja) – The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council AMAC Hon Christopher Maikalangu was on Wednesday the 29th of October, 2025 recommended for second term mandate by the former AMAC Chairman Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido in Abuja during first anniversary celebration of Aso mirror.

The ex AMAC Chairman who was a one time mandate secretary transport in the Federal capital territory FCT endorsed his successor urging residents to vote Christopher because, if given another opportunity, he will be the best chairman the council has ever produced.

Candido in his speech, during the celebration , stressed that Maikalangu has achieved so much in his tenure and encouraged people to appreciate him by voting him back into office come February 21, 2026 council chairman election to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.

Maikalangu who has the support of Hon Barr Nyesom Wike the FCT minster emerged the winner APC primaries for the AMAC Chairmanship election in June and has been warming up for re – election into the office.

Having received a certificate of return from the APC to run for second tenure, the Chairman has been strongly soliciting for support from the residents of the Federal Capital Territory ahead of the 2026 polls appealing the people asses their choice of candidate based on their service delivery record. Some of his numerous achievements include :rehabilitation of major roads in AMAC, solar lights in communities such as Nyanya Gwarimpa, sauka, kpeese, Zokoyoko, Orozo 11 and Tungan Jiwa, significant progress in access to Healthcare and quality education.

He stressed his devotion to serving the masses during his appearance at the new yam festival of ndi igbo in Abuja, “We are not here to simply occupy a seat, we are here to serve the community with tangible projects and accountable governance“.

Christopher further pleaded that residents vote for substance, exemplary leadership and continuity as he already demonstrated his actions by solving peoples needs and laying foundation for continuity in project embarkment.
