Anambra State FRSC Officials Visits Commissioner For Health Anambra State Ahead Of 2025 Christmas Holiday

FIC Report (Anambra State) – Anambra State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Corp Commander (CC) Bridget Asekhauno on Tuesday led a delegation of officers of the FRSC to a visit on the state commissioner for health, Dr Afam Obidike.

The visit was to strengthen partnership in boosting safety ahead of the 2025 Christmas holiday.

According to the Sector Commander, the Anambra Sector of the FRSC has mapped out the 2025 Yuletide safety week which is to commence soon.

The visit took place at the Health Commissioner’s office in Awka, It was focused on boosting cooperation between the two government agencies during the festive season in the state.

“This is a period often associated with heavy travels traffic congestion and a rise in preventable road crashes,” Asekhauno quipped.

She added “the ember month usually witness increased movement across the state, making it necessary for all relevant stakeholders to work together.”

“Collaboration with the health sector will ensure faster access to medical care for road crash victims and reduce fatalities.

“Improved emergency response, public sensitisation and strict enforcement of traffic regulations will from key components of the 2025 safety campaign”.

Commissioner Obidike pointed at the FRSC’s sustained commitment to road safety in the state while assuring the visitors of the Ministry of Health readiness to support in the areas of emergency vis-à-vis hospital readiness and community health education throughout the yuletide.

Dr. Obidike urged the state residents to avoid excessive speeding, ensure proper vehicle maintenance and comply with safety rules.
