AWKA – (FIC Awka Report ) – The Director – General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Nasir Argungu has disclosed that over 10,000 women and youths in Anambra State have benefited from the vocational skills training of the Directorate.
He made this known at the flag off / empowerment programme of NDE conducted in Nnewi, Anambra State lately, pointing out that the figure covers the last quarter of 2018 to – date. He stressed that youth employment has witnessed rapid intervention by the President Buhari – led administration.
Nasir Argungu, who was represented by the Deputy Director in NDE , Julius Fakunle said that recently the present administration empowered hundreds of thousands of youths and women through articulated polices, programmes and sustained support to the Federal Agencies responsible for employment and job creation.
Also speaking at ghe occasion, thd State Co-ordinator of NDE, Ofelle Chika disclosed that 3,000 persons underwent the basic business training, while some were equipped on how to prepare business plans. She explained that they are currently collaborating with the Central Bank of Nigeria under the Agric Business Small Micro Enterprise Investment Scheme.
