Assessors From National Healthcare Development In Anambra State To Assess ASPHCDA

Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala, has commended a team of assessors from the National Healthcare Development Agency, on official assignment to the State.

Dr. Okpala made the commendation when the team paid him a courtesy visit recently, at his Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex office, in Awka.

He emphasized Gov. Willie Obiano’s commitment to providing functional healthcare service delivery to the people of the State, pointing out that quality healthcare service is the watchword of the government as it relates to health matters. 

In her remarks, Dr. Chioma Ezenyimulu, Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ASPHCDA) informed the Commissioner that the team of assessors were in the State to access the rate of implementation of primary healthcare activities.

She disclosed that the Agency coordinates all Primary Healthcare activities in Nigeria, so, all the Primary Healthcare Development Agencies, are assessed every year, by a team of assessors from the National Primary Healthcare Agency and the Civil Society Organizations.

Dr. Ezenyimulu explained that the team would commence assessment of healthcare facilities, one facility each, from the three senatorial zones of the state.

She further explained that the assessors after concluding the exercise would come back to render a report on their findings.

The leader of the team, Mr. Charles Ijeomah, said they came to inform the commissioner officially about their activities in the State.

Mr. Ijeomah noted that they made some observations during their last assessment visit to the state and hoped that some of those observations had been remedied.

Mr. Ijeomah stressed that, they were going to work with some of the health workers in the state to get all necessary information and assured that at the end of the assessment, reports would be sent back to the state which could be used to seek for more support from the National body.
