FIC Report (Benue State) – The Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, on Friday, August 01, 2025, transmitted the first batch of commissioner-nominees to the Benue State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation, in accordance with constitutional provisions.
This development follows the earlier dissolution of the former State Executive Council, on Wednesday 30th July 2025,and signifies a bold step toward reconstituting the Benue State Executive Council (EXCO), with the aim of repositioning the state for effective governance, service delivery, and institutional reform.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, MNIPR, the nominees in the first batch include:
- Hon. Theresa Odachi Ikwue
- Hon. Dr. Benjamin Ashaver
- Hon. Dr. Adamu Margaret Ijaguwa
- Hon. Dr. Peter Oboh Egbodo
- Dr. Yangien Timothy Ornguga
- Hon. Denis Iyaighgba
- Hon. James Dwem
- Dr. Paul Ejeh Ogwuche
The Chief Press Secretary noted that a second batch of nominees has been forwarded to the House of Assembly to complete the process of forming a full Executive Council in the state.
