President Mohamadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. Pokop W. Bupwatda as the new Chief Medical Director (CMD), University of Jos Teaching Hospital (JUTH).
The appointment which takes effect from 30th August, 2022 for an initial four-year tenure was conveyed in a letter signed by the Honourable Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, dated 19th October, 2022 at the Ministry’s Headquarters, Abuja.
Congratulating the newly appointed CMD, Dr. Ehanire charged him to strive to add value to the facility in order to improve the economy and also justify the confidence reposed in him by Mr. President.
“Health Sector is a key sector of the economy; you should strive to improve on the health facility in your domain.
“Take more responsibility to improve the economy, and the condition of the teaching hospital,” the Minister said.
In response, the new CMD, Dr. Pokop Bupwatda expressed his appreciation to the President for finding him worthy of the appointment and also assured that he will not disappoint.
“I pledge not to disappoint the Honourable Minister; I will work with all stakeholders to move the place forward.” Bupwatda said.
Present to witness the presentation of appointment letter were: the Acting Director, Hospital Services, Dr Bola Alonge, Director Teaching Hospitals, Dr. Andrew Noah, Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister Dr. Dobra Emuren and other well-wishers.
