The new Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs (FMSDIGA), Dr. Maryam Keshinro, has called on the staff of the ministry to redouble their efforts to actualize the Renewed Hope Agenda of present administration.

She made the call when the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Ibiene Roberts, handed the baton of leadership to her in a handing over ceremony in Abuja.

“Today is not a speech making event. It is a call to duty therefore I employ the support and cooperation of the Management and staff of the ministry to deliver on the vision and mandate of the Ministry as it relates to the 8-point Agenda of Mr. President in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda,” she said.

To the outgoing, Permanent Secretary, she said: “I am not here to reinvent the wheel but to build on the legacy of the good work you have done in this Ministry” adding that “We shall collectively continue with the implementation of the FCSSIP25, an innovative programme initiated by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation (OHCSF) for the transformation of the Nigerian Civil Service through capacity building, sustenance and creation of enabling environment to promote competitiveness, innovation, and performance-based system, as well as robust reward system”.

Keshinro, admonished the staff to be guided by the Public Service Rules, (PSR) and extant circulars in their conduct and operation.

Speaking also, the former, Permanent Secretary said that she was confronted by a lot of challenges when she assumed duty two years ago but through dent of hard work and support from staff, she was able to surmount them.

She enumerated several achievements undertaken by the Ministry, chief amongst them being the Ministry’s capacity to execute projects rather than certification only as was the practice in the past.

The highlight of the occasion was the handing over notes from the outgoing Permanent Secretary to the incoming one.
