FIC Report (Lagos State) – The Office of the Lagos State Surveyor-General (OSSG) recently played host to a delegation from the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), as part of efforts to promote transparency and accountability within the public service.

Led by Mrs Peace Anozie, the CCB team emphasized the importance of adhering to the revised Asset Declaration Code of Conduct Form, describing it as “a vital instrument for promoting integrity, fairness, and ethical behaviour among public officers.”

Addressing OSSG officials, Mrs Anozie stressed that “the Code of Conduct is more than a regulatory requirement; it is a moral compass which guides our actions, fosters harmony, and upholds the reputation of our institutions.”

She warned against unethical practices, such as receiving dual salaries, saying “such actions violate professional standards and undermine the credibility of the public service.”

In response, OSSG officials expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining ethical standards and promoting good governance.

“The Code of Conduct serves as a moral compass which guides our actions, fosters harmony, and upholds the reputation of our institutions,” Mrs Anozie reiterated.

The sensitization session concluded with a renewed call for all public officers to uphold honesty, accountability, and transparency in the discharge of their duties.
