The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Aminu Aliyu Bisalla, has advised Civil Servants in the Ministry to utilise their time for effective service delivery, during and after, service years. Bisalla said this recently, in Abuja, at a send forth ceremony organised by the Ministry, in honour of the former Chairman, Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria and Joint Union Negotiating Council in the Ministry, Mr Benjamin Esekhaigbe, who retired from the civil service recently. Bisalla commended the retiree, Mr. Benjamin Esekhaigbe who according him was one of the pioneer staff of the Ministry, for his outstanding performance in the service and as the Union Chairman. The Permanent Secretary added that, the Ministry’s Management would continue to support all staff so as to bring out their potentials in discharging their duties in line with the mandate of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, for the overall development of the Niger Delta region and Nigeria in general. In her speech, the Director, Community Development and Education, Mrs Lauren Braide, said the Civil Service provides a good avenue for people to interact beyond ethnic borders. She thanked Comrade Benjamin Esekhaigbe for his dedication, outstanding good qualities and inter-personal relationship with other staff while in the service. In his response, Mr Esekhaigbe thanked the Permanent Secretary, the Management and Staff of the Ministry for organising the send forth in his honour and re-engineering the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs for better service delivery.
