COHEADS Delta State Chapter Holds Its 2025 End of Year Party And Launching Of 2026 Calendar

FIC Report (Delta State) – The Committee of Heads of Federal Government Establishments (COHEADS), Delta State Chapter, yesterday held its 2025 End of Year Party and Launching of Year 2026 COHEADS Calendar.

The event which took place at the Olorogun Felix Ibru Secretariat Conference Hall, Mariam Babangida Way Asaba the State capital, witnessed a large turn out by Heads of various Federal Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), their representatives and staff as well as other invited dignitaries.

The occasion was chaired by the immediate past Chairman of COHEADS and former State Coordinator, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. John Onovroke.

In a welcome address, the Chairman COHEADS, Delta State, Engr. Kennedy Onyenobi described COHEADS as an organized body that has truly stood the test of time, stressing that members of COHEADS in Delta State have continued to demonstrate commitment to the ideals of public service.

He expressed profound appreciation to members for their loyalty, resilience and continued dedication to the body despite noticeable operational and economic challenges.

Speaking on the significance of the calendar launch, he explained that the 2026 calendar is more than a routine publication as according to him, it is symbolic, with each page highlighting the headship of and representatives of the various MDSs, their in Delta State, their values and collective journey of COHEADS as a body.

He encouraged members to remain united, uphold the values of integrity and service, and continue to project the mandates, vision and mission of their various MDAs in line with Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. John Onovroke, thanked the leadership and members of COHEADS for the invitation and for the initiative of organizing the programme. He commended COHEADS for sustaining its relevance over the years. Mr. Onovroke also used the occasion to call on government at all levels to continue to recognise and appoint experienced civil and public servants into positions of authority, stressing that their institutional knowledge and administrative expertise are vital for effective governance.

The 2026 calendar was formally launched by the Federal Pay Officer, Office of the Accountant General of the Federation Delta State, Mrs Ogochukwu Anoliefoh supported by other co-launchers.

Mrs. Anoliefoh who is also a member of COHEADS, commended and applauded the leadership of COHEADS for the initiative behind the calendar project. She encouraged members to remain steadfast and purposeful in advancing the goals of the civil and public service in their respective MDAs.

The programme also featured a health talk delivered by the Vice Chairperson COHEADS and Geologist in charge, Nigerian Geological Survey Agency (NGSA), Mrs. Darling Chima Ononiwu with emphasis on public awareness against the absorption and harmful effects of mercury.

Participants were enlightened on the health risks associated with mercury exposure and the importance of preventive measures for personal and environmental safety.

COHEADS is a forum of interaction for Heads and officers in various Federal Government Establishments operating in Delta State including the Police and other Paramilitary Services.

The forum has its origin to Federal Government Circular Ref. No.58788/B.26/75 of 25th August 1978 which came as a result of efforts to find solutions to communication gaps between Head Offices of Federal MDAs and their Field/State Offices on one hand and their respective host State Governments on the other hand.
