FIC Report (Kano State) – Kano State’s Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji Rano, paid a familiarization visit to the History and Culture Bureau and the Tourism Board on December 30, 2024. The visit aimed to evaluate ongoing operations and explore opportunities for improvement within the institutions under her ministry.
According to Amina Lawan Isah, the Information Officer of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, the Commissioner praised Governor Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf for his steadfast support in fostering tourism and preserving the state’s rich cultural heritage. She lauded the significant strides made by the two parastatals, such as infrastructure renovations and the introduction of innovative cultural programs.
Hajiya Aisha urged staff members to maintain punctuality and dedication, stressing the need to avoid absenteeism. She highlighted the Governor’s commitment to staff welfare, exemplified by his pioneering implementation of the new minimum wage policy in the state.
In their responses, the Executive Secretary of the History and Culture Bureau, Ahmad Abba Yusuf, and the Managing Director of the Tourism Board, Comrade Tukur Bala Sagagi, reaffirmed their support for the Commissioner’s vision. They pledged to work diligently toward advancing the state’s tourism and cultural sectors, ensuring the realization of the ministry’s objectives.
