The Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, has pledged his full support for the upcoming Second Edition of the all Africa Military Games, scheduled to take place from November 18th to 30th, 2024, at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium in Abuja.

Dikko gave the assurance Wednesday in Abuja, when he received the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher G. Musa OFR, on courtesy visit.

As an indication of his full support to the upcoming event, Dikko committed to collaborating with relevant sport federations to offer all the necessary support to achieve a seamless hosting experience.

As a support base, Dikko hinted on instituting a technical team of experienced hands with a mandate to come up with support and advisory template in areas of event management/organization, crowd engagement strategies, and overall technical and logistical support to ensure a memorable and successful event.

Dikko said he would bring his wealth of experience in the sector to bear, emphasizing that “I would spare no effort to ensure the full success of the event.”

He used the opportunity to harp on the positive impacts of sports on community engagement and national unity and emphasized the role of sports in youth development and how it can be used as a distraction from negative influences. These, according to him, underlined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to leveraging sports as a national asset.
