In a heartfelt ceremony, the Ecological Fund Office today celebrated the meritorious exit of several esteemed colleagues who have contributed 35 years of dedicated service to the Nigerian civil service.

Aisha Goggo Ndayako, Permanent Secretary of the Ecological Fund Office, commended the retirees for their invaluable contributions to the nation’s progress and emphasized that their legacy would never be forgotten.

“We are here celebrating the meritorious exit of our colleagues from the civil service after 35 years of service and after having contributed their quota to our nation building,” said Ndayako.

“I know this day will be a memorable one for all of us because all of us wish for such a meritorious exit from service. I want to assure you that your contributions will not be forgotten, and from the little time which we have spent together, I know that you still have much more to contribute to us in Nigeria.”

The Permanent Secretary also acknowledged the wealth of experience shared by the retirees during her time at the Ecological Fund Office since her appointment in August.

“I have learned a lot from all of you since I came on board as your permanent secretary in August, and I know that we’ll continue to call on you because I know you all have a lot of knowledge and information about the Ecological Project Office and other knowledge from your wealth of experience as civil servants.”

A special mention was made of Mr. Igwe, whose contributions were recognized during the ceremony.

“Mr. Igwe, I also want to congratulate you on your new position with the deputy speaker when he comes on board. He will tell us the full title of his new position. It was a pleasure working with him. Thank you.”

As the ceremony concluded, Ndayako shared some important reflections on maintaining a spirit of unity and mutual care within the Ecological Project Office.

“Honesty, commitment, learning, and being each other’s friend and keeper enhances our work ethics and enhances our family of ecological project offices.”

She also shared a poignant message following the recent loss of their colleague, Mr. Igwe.

“A month ago we lost our director Mr. Igwe. When we left his house, I told everybody we should be kinder to each other because we do not know what the other person’s family is going through, and we should endeavor to look out for each other. So please, we should endeavor to be about our brotherhood and sisterhood in the Ecological Project Office because everybody has something that they are carrying.”

Furthermore, Ndayako emphasized the importance of supporting one another and celebrating one another’s successes.

“It has been our policy that we celebrate with each other. We celebrate promotions, we celebrate retirement, and we celebrate exemplary good work. Today we have to come here because we have to celebrate our colleagues.”

Reflecting on the retirees’ remarkable careers, she acknowledged the exceptional integrity and dedication demonstrated by those present.

“For you to be able to say you’ve done 35 years without EFCC, ICPC, or somebody holding you down, it is to God Almighty that I give the glory. So I look forward to working with the rest of the team, and I look forward to us calling upon you for any kind of you are now senior citizens, and we have to always tap on information from our senior citizens.”

In closing, Ndayako wished all the retirees success and happiness in their future endeavors, stating, “I wish you all the success and happiness in all your future endeavors. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Thank you.”
