The Edo State Government has begun the fumigation of major markets across the state in line with the directive for the markets to be shut down and fumigated.
Sellers of food stuffs and other essential commodities have been relocated to designated primary and secondary schools in close proximity to the shut markets.
As at 11am on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, major markets within the Benin City metropolis such as the Oba Market are already being fumigated.
In the same vein, other major markets we visited in the Benin metropolis, such as Oregbeni and Aduwawa markets were devoid of the usual crowd.
