FIC Report (Edo State) – The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, Monday Agbonika, has reaffirmed the Command’s determination to sustain its onslaught against criminal elements across the State.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, February 13, 2026, in Benin City, CP Agbonika said the Command has intensified intelligence-led operations involving bush combing, aerial surveillance, and joint raids with other security agencies.
He disclosed that between January and February 2026, the Command arrested 87 suspected kidnappers, 14 armed robbers, 13 murder suspects, and 15 cultists, while 30 kidnapped victims were rescued—many unhurt.
Recovered items include several arms and ammunition, stolen vehicles, motorcycles, and mobile phones.
The Commissioner commended the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun for tactical support, and Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo State for donating drones and logistics that have strengthened the Command’s operations.
He urged residents to celebrate the Valentine season peacefully, remain security-conscious, and promptly report suspicious activities, assuring that police patrols and tactical teams remain on high alert to ensure safety across the State.
“Edo State is out of bounds to criminals. No forest is too thick, no hideout too remote,” CP Agbonika declared.
