FIC Report (Edo State) – In a clear demonstration of its dedication to strengthening Nigeria’s overall energy stability, the Edo State Government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to safeguarding critical oil infrastructure and supporting National Energy Security Initiatives. This renewed pledge comes amid ongoing efforts to promote peace and security within the Petroleum Sector across the State.
During a recent meeting with Leadership of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), held at Government House in Benin City, Senator Monday Okpebholo, emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation within the Industry. He highlighted the State’s readiness to work closely with Federal Agencies and Industry Stakeholders to ensure the protection of vital Oil Pipelines and Facilities.
Governor Okpebholo announced the establishment of a specialized task force dedicated to monitoring and securing pipelines in Edo State, as part of the broader national strategy to prevent vandalism and ensure uninterrupted energy supplies. He also disclosed plans to empower the Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Pipeline Surveillance to enhance oversight and enforcement.
The Government’s efforts are aligned with national policies aimed at promoting energy security, economic stability, and industrial growth. The leadership of IPMAN expressed their commitment to transparency and peaceful Leadership succession, reaffirming their support for Government Policies.


This proactive approach by Edo State underscores its role as a key partner in Nigeria’s quest for reliable Energy Infrastructure and Security. Stakeholders at the meeting commended the Government’s swift response and strategic measures to address security challenges facing the Petroleum sector.
