Edo State Government Renames 7 Ministries To Enhance Efficiency

FIC Report (Edo State) – The Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, in a statement announces the renaming of seven ministries as approved by Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State.

The change is to enable these ministries align with global standards and improve governance , in the course of his statement he emphasized that the change is to reflect the administration’s commitment to modernising public service and enhancing efficiency.

According to him, the adjustments will help streamline government operations, ensuring better service delivery to the people of Edo State.

The affected ministries and their new designations are as follows:

  1. The Ministry of Roads and Bridges is now the Ministry of Works.
  2. The Ministry of Local Government, Community, and Chieftaincy Affairs has been rebranded as the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
  3. The Ministry of Communication and Orientation has been renamed the Ministry of Information and Communications.
  4. The Ministry of Mining and Energy is now the Ministry of Mining.
  5. The Ministry of Water Resource has been changed to the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy.
  6. The Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues is now the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
  7. Science, and Technology has been streamlined to the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The Edo State Government reassured citizens that these modifications will not affect service delivery but will instead enhance administrative efficiency. He concluded by saying “The Governor remains focused on fulfilling his mandate to the people and strengthening the state’s institutions for optimal performance.”
