Members of the education family led by the Minister of State for Education, Hon Chukuemeka Nwajiuba and the Permanent Secretary , Arc. Sonny Echono have commiserated with Education Minister Adamu Adamu over the death of his Mother, Hajiya Fatima Adamu Baaba, who died in the early hours of Friday morning. In a statement signed this morning on behalf of staff of the ministry and it’s agencies ,Nwajiuba said, “this is our collective grief, our dear mother has left us. The best we can do now and for the rest of our lives is to continue to work and live together as brothers” Condolence messages have also come in from twenty-one Chief Executives of Parastatals under the Ministry of Education including Professor Ishaq Oloyede of Jamb, Professor Silas Bogoro of TETFund, Professor Bappa Aliu of UBEC Professor Abdurasheed of the NUC and the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Colleges of Education among others. Also Offering their condolences are the over 120 Directors in the Ministry which include Principals of the One Hundred and Four Unity Colleges. Education Correspondents led by NTA’s Abdullahi Suleja expressed their grief, praying Allah to grant Mama Adamu eternal rest , and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.Mama Fatima Adamu has since been laid to rest according to Islamic rites.Ben.
