FIC Report (Sokoto State) – The Sultan of Sokoto and president-General of the Nigerian supreme council for Islamic Affairs(NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar111,has commended efforts towards addressing insecurity in Nigeria, he called for more stringent measures to tackle issues.
He made the disclosure on Friday, during his Eid-el-Fitr message, following the 2-Raja’at Eid prayer at the Fakon Idi Eid praying ground in Sokoto.
The Sultan also urged Muslims to sustain prayers for peace, unity and prosperity in Nigeria, emphasising that prayers are a potent weapon against the country’s problems. He encouraged all to leave in peace, regardless of religious, ethnic or cultural differences.
He congratulated Nigerian muslims on completing the 30-day Ramadan fast and appealed to other state governments to follow Sokoto state’s lead in implementing initiatives that addresses social, health care access, insecurity measures and environmental conservation.
The event was attended by prominent dignitaries including the governor of Sokoto state, Ahamed Aliyu, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wammako and the Minister of state for works, Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo among others.
