FIC Report (Abia State) – The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu, FNSE, in the company of the Umuahia Capital Development Authority (UCDA) Director General, Mr. Kingsley Agomuo went on an inspection visit at the proposed site for the relocation of all table top and street traders at ishi Gate, Umuahia. The proposed site is situated at Afara Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State.
The deputy governor, while addressing the people of the community, emphasised that the project is aimed at relocating the street traders at ishi Gate.
He said “the project is focused on decongesting human and vehicular traffic constantly experienced within that axis, thereby enhancing free movement of vehicles and achieving a seren environment and improving the overall aesthetics of the State Capital”.
He pointed out that the new market cluster will also enhance the proximity between buyers and sellers as the market site is more central and revealed that necessary facilities befitting of an ultra modern market like constant electricity, toilet facilities, water supply, and a leisure/ recreational spot, among others, will all be put in place to ensure a conducive business environment for all.
The people of the community expressed joy and excitement over the project, describing it as a welcomed development.They conveyed their gratitude to the government of Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, as they sang and chanted praises for the governor & His Deputy.
