—Enjoins Staff to take the lead in Implementing the Eight-Point Agenda of Mr. President
The newly deployed Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, today assumed office and enjoined the management and staff to take the lead in implementing the eight-point agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to restore hope for the hopeless.
The Permanent Secretary made the statement during the handing and taking over ceremony held in the conference room of the Ministry.
According to him, Mr President is the architect. He has come up with the drawing and the plans and we are the ones to interpret the plans and implement them accordingly. “The task ahead of us is much and we can not afford to disappoint the citizens of Nigeria who have huge expectation of us”.
He said we are all going to work collectively to achieve the agenda of Mr. President to wipe away the tears of the people to make this country more prosperous.
“I believe it is doable, and achievable. With our dynamic and intelligent Minister in place, it is our duty to rally around and make sure that she succeeds”.
He called on staff to manage the resources of government judiciously to ensure value for money in such a way that whatever is expended, there is justification in terms of the output.
Earlier, the out-going Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, mni, NPOM, who was deployed to the Ministry of Police Affairs, in his remarks told his successor that the Ministry has the best of data in the country and encouraged him to explore the data and use it.
He said the caliber of staff in the Ministry is so incredible, capable and willing to work and support the new Permanent Secretary as much as possible.
He called on the staff to give his successor all the cooperation and support that he needs.
The high point of the event was the signing and official handing and taking over of documents of office by the two Permanent Secretaries.
In attendance were Directors, management and staff of the Ministry and officials of the Ministry of Police affairs.
