EPO Perm Sec Tasks Staff on Synergy at Workplace

The Permanent Secretary, Ecological Project Office (EPO), Mallam Shehu Ibrahim mni, has tasked management and staff of the Office to build on the required synergy and collaboration in their work ethics in order to maximize their full potentials in the workplace. He stated that working together in an atmosphere of mutual respect, ability to learn from one other will enhance their skills and bring out the best in them.

Malam Ibrahim stated this during his maiden meeting with staff of EPO on Friday, 14th October, 2022 at the Conference Hall, Block D, Federal Secretariat Complex, Phase 11, Abuja. He said the meeting was to enable him interact and familiarize with the staff for a more robust working relationship for the actualisation of the mandate of the office.

He stressed the need for staff to widen their horizon by developing themselves through capacity building programmes, personal skill acquisition, seminars, reading books and exploring online training opportunities .He explained that any knowledge acquired in the discharge of their duties would be an added value and a reference point for their higher responsibilities as they progress in the service.

The Permanent Secretary also admonished staff to work together in harmony and be ready to interact and learn from each other, be open minded, put in their best and always ask for  clarifications where necessary, adding that service is all about cooperation and not competition.

He urged the staff to be diligent, committed and focused on their work and shun gossips and the spread of fake news.

Malam Ibrahim commended his predecessor for the solid foundation already laid in the office which he said is evidenced and promised to build on it.

Speaking on behalf of the directors, the Director, Pollution Control, Mr Clinton Igwe, said EPO is an office that strives  to attain perfection and has witnessed a trajectory of progress over time. He expressed optimism that the coming on board of the Permanent Secretary to the office will assist the staff In perfecting what they already know.

Mr Igwe admonished the staff to take advantage of the Permanent Secretary’s tenure in EPO and be ready to learn and improve on their work ethics. He described him as a ‘Professor’ who is bringing in his wealth of knowledge and experience from the service.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Deputy Director overseeing the Office of the Director, Special Duties, Mallam Abdu Yahaya, commended the Permanent Secretary for his swift directive to convene the maiden meeting with the staff, stating that it is a  demonstration of his fatherly figure to acquaint himself with members of staff.

He advised the staff to rededicate their commitments to the service for the good of all.
