KEFFI – (Ministry of Budget & National Planning) – The specialized training programme on building the core skills of planners for effective implementation of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) has commenced. The programme which is organised by the Ministry of Budget and National Planning kicked-off on Thursday May 3, 2018 in Keffi, Nassarawa State with an opening ceremony by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Olajide Odewale.
In his welcome remarks at the occasion, Olajide Odewale expressed delight in the effort of government towards deepening the understanding of participants on the implementation of the ERGP, which according to him is one of the several steps towards get the plan effectively operational. He noted that the problem of the country has not been that of lack of development plans, but that of a failure of implementation. He continued that the training was aimed at enhancing the capacity of core officers in the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) on the critical elements for effective implementation of the plan.
Mr Odewale pointed out that the training also aimed at equipping the officers with relevant technical skills in project/programmes execution for enhanced service delivery in the country. he explained that the core officers in various Federal MDAs will be participating in the training programme to be organized in four batches from May 3rd to May 16th, 2018. He informed that the resource persons scheduled for the skills enhancement training were drawn from the academia, development experts and practitioners in the public and private sectors.
