In line with the federal government’s agenda of enhancing the welfare of civil servants through the provision of quality and affordable housing, the Executive Secretary, Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board (FGSHLB), Mr. Ibrahim Mairiga has inspected the ongoing development of the 116 unit Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) Estate in Gwagwalada with a view to ascertaining its level of completion.
During the inspection, Mr. Mairiga said that the Board, in a bid to deliver on its mandate of providing decent and affordable houses for Federal Public Servants, collaborated with some of its partner Estate Developers to construct the Estate to make the 116 units, 2 bedroom bungalows habitable and easily accessible.
The Executive Secretary who observed that the Estate’s perimeter fencing is at the final stage of completion commended the In-House Direct Labour Task Team headed by the Board’s Director, Operations Department, Hajiya Salamatu Ahmed for a job well done.
Mr. Mairiga disclosed that the construction of the Estate, which is fully funded by the Board, will soon be ready for commissioning by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.
Earlier, the Board’s Director of Finance and Account and a member of the committee, Mr Yakubu Musa Kadiri, who led the inspection team round the Estate, explained that the needed infrastructures like internal road, electrical and water network are expected to be provided by the Federal Ministries of Works, Power and Water Resources respectively.
The completion of FISH Estate for federal public servants will be a testament to the commitment of the present administration to the welfare of the workers.
