FIC Report (Niger State) – Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has promised to complete the Sarkin Pawa-Kaduna road.
Farmer Governor Umaru Bago made the promise when he interacted with stakeholders of Munya local government area in Sarkin Pawa, after inspecting the ongoing 5 km road project in the local government headquarters, in continuation of his statewide projects monitoring.
He said the Sarkin Pawa-Kaduna road project would reduce the travel time from Niger to Kaduna State.
Speaking on the road project he inspected, the farmer Governor expressed satisfaction with the quality of work being done.
He then tasked the Stakeholders of the local government to persuade the people, especially owners of properties affected by the road construction, to cooperate with the contractor to allow him to accelerate the completion project for their benefit, assuring them that compensation will soon be paid.
While noting the relative peace the local government is enjoying, farmer Governor Umaru Bago promised to continue do his best in ensuring the security of lives and property .
He promised to upgrade the Primary Healthcare projects his administration has initiated in the local government to include road construction, Fire Service station, upgrade of Primary Healthcare to Level 2 Primary Healthcare Centre.
The farmer Governor then encouraged the people to make optimal use of the relative peace in the area to effectively engage in farming activities in line with the Agricultural revolution in the State.
Earlier, Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Sen. Mohammed Sani Musa, assured the people that the Bago-led administration will complete the road project in record time, adding that the farmer Governor has directed that solar-power streetlights should be fixed along the road to illuminate the environment.
He urged them to continue to support the present administration to ensure its success.
In their separate remarks, Chairman of Munya Local government council, Aminu Nagume, Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Barr. Maurice Magaji and Mr. Peterson Kaura, appreciated the farmer Governor for his untiring effort in ensuring the safety of the people which has resulted to relative peace in some communities within the local government area and many more dividends of democracy.
They said Munya has advantage in terms of land for food production and urged the farmer Governor to resuscitate the rail track in Munya to aid the movement of goods and services as there are 4 rail stations within the local government.
Some residents of Sarkin Pawa interviewed, expressed gratitude to the farmer Governor for the visit and all the remarkable achievements of his administration, especially in the areas of security, Agriculture, and infrastructural development as well as prayed that his administration will sustain the tempo.
