FIC Report (Abia State) – Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation has organized a one day Town Hall Meeting in Awka.
The Town Hall Meeting with the theme “Tinubu Administration’s Mid – term Report By Mohammed Idris” was held at Ezeemo International Press Center, Awka.
The Head of Centre, Federal Information Resource Centre, Awka, Joy Chukwurah who spoke on behalf of the Minister of Information and National Orientation Alhaji Mohammed Idris in her welcome address commended the Federal government for organizing such a pivotal meeting in all the States of the Federation.
While enumerating some of the great achievements of this present administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Head of Centre called on the masses to join hands with the government to lift up the nation.
The Chairman of the occasion, Dr Emeka Odogwu , a Lecturer in the department of Mass Communication, Nnamdi Azikiwe in his Opening remarks disclosed that what prompted the meeting was to sensitize the Citizenry on what this administration under the leadership of President Tinubu has achieved within two years in the office.
He called on the Federal government to help resolve all the issues confronting all the Institutions of higher learning like ASUU and others in this country, noting that government should also look into the health issues challenges of its citizens.
Dr Odogwu further begged the Federal government to equally help in repairing the Federal roads in Anambra State and bring more of the Federal amenities other States are enjoying to Anambra State too.
The Resource Person, who is a Lecturer in the Department of Science Education at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Dr Edith Onyeka in her speech noted that looking at the surface, it seems that this present administration is not doing anything but when you look deep, you will see that the present administration has achieved a lot.
Dr Edith Onyeka commended this present administration for working very hard to stabilize the nation and for not allowing our Universities to go on strike.
She commended this Administration’s giant stride in Agriculture, health and other sectors.
She noted that this government has truly made remarkable progress, however she called them to do more in the area of insecurity in the country, saying that the government has the ability to cushion all these challenges in the country.
A Stake holder and a retired civil Servant, Mr Chinwuba, who also said that there are remarkable progress and changes in the country because of the huge allocation the State governments get from the Federal government level because President Tinubu cannot be evewhere and these allocations have given rise to some of the lots of achievements in different States.
People from different works of life attended the meeting.
There was a question and answer section and finally a refreshment.
The Head of Centre in her closing remarks commended the Federal government for organizing such a pivotal meeting.
