Federal Ministry Of Women Affairs & Near Foundation Distribute Food Packages to Cushion Hardship During Ramadan

In a concerted effort to alleviate economic hardship and support vulnerable groups, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, in collaboration with the Near Foundation, has distributed tons of essential food packages to notable women’s groups in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and various communities in Nasarawa State. This initiative aims to provide relief during the holy month of Ramadan and ensure beneficiaries can celebrate the upcoming Eid-el-Fitr with dignity and joy.

The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, made this known during her visit to different communities in Abuja and Nasarawa State. Speaking through her Special Assistant, Mrs Ola Erinfolami, she emphasized that the food distribution programme aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which is focused on alleviating poverty and ensuring that “the poor can breathe.”

“This initiative is not a one-time effort. We are committed to continuously supporting those in need, especially women and vulnerable communities, to cushion the effects of economic hardship. The Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President places great importance on social welfare, and this food distribution programme is a testament to that commitment,” the Minister stated.

Beneficiaries of the food distribution program expressed profound gratitude, highlighting the significant impact of the initiative on their families during the Ramadan period. Many women’s groups and community leaders also lauded the Government and its partners for their unwavering support in addressing hunger and economic challenges.

The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women and vulnerable groups across Nigeria and encouraged continued collaboration with organizations like Near Foundation to expand the reach of such interventions.
