The Federal Government of Nigeria has assured the People’s Republic of Bangladesh of further corporation in enhancing bilateral relationship between the two countries.
The Honourable Minister of Defence, Maj. Gen. Bashir Salihi Magashi made the statement while receiving the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigeria, Mr. Masudur Rahman, in Ship House, Abuja.
Maj. Gen. Magashi noted that the basis for the collaboration should be exploited in areas of Training Military Personnel through exchange programmes, shared contribution towards global relationship and peace keeping.
He further stated that when the Memorandum of Understanding is signed, the two countries will no doubt strengthen the relationship which has over the years been cordial with mutual cooperation and understanding.
The Minister explained that the collaboration between the Armed Forces of the countries in facilitating industrial cooperation as well as technology transfer in research and development of defence equipment is paramount.
Earlier in his submission, the High Commissioner Masudur Rahman pledged his country’s commitment to explore and further reinforce bilateral relations with Nigeria in various aspects of National development.
He however commended and congratulated Nigerian Government on the successes recorded so far in spite of the fight against criminal activities ravaging the country and look forward to a more affable relationship in the future.
