FG Assures Partners Of Effective Maintenance Of The Environmental Health Data Centre

The Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal has assured partners of the effective maintenance of Environmental Health Data Centre.

Balarabe stated this in Abuja recently while unveiling and commissioning the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria( EHCON ) Electronic Data Centre.

The Minister noted that the centre will enhance service delivery of EHCON, eliminate fake certificates thereby resulting to presentable results from the centre.

He believed that the unveiling of the electronic data centre was a significant step in the commitment of the government in environmental, health sustainability and National Development.

Abbas also disclosed that the centre will enhance data centric and evidence based decision making in environmental health such as data integration, accessibility, real time monitoring, early warning system, analystic capability, policy formation and integration.

Earlier in his opening remark, Dr. Yakub Baba- Mohammed, Registrar of EHCON thanked the World Bank and other partners for the realization of the centre and reiterated that the facility would be utilized for the purposed it was acquired.

Dr. Baba-Muhammad believed that the centre will allow the Council to migrate from analogue to digital data processing is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present Administration and the Performance Management System (PMS).

He also stated that the centre will ensure online registration for members, online exam/ certification, information management, harmonisation of data management, seamless feed back and printing of official documents.

In a separate goodwill messages, Mr. Abdulhamed Umar the Project Coordinator of Agro Climate Resilience Semi-Arid Landscape (ACReSAL), Dr Ede and Carbonization expert from USA Sadiq Sani all pledged their continuous support for the smooth running of the centre and revealed that the centre will unlock Circular Economy in Nigeria.
