FG Awards Contract For Reconstruction Of Ado-Ekiti–Iyin–Aramoko–Itawure Road

FIC Report (Ekiti State) – The Federal Government has awarded a contract for the reconstruction of the Ado-Ekiti–Iyin–Aramoko–Itawure Road, a major route linking Ekiti State to the Osun State border.

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun who disclosed this in a statement made available to Journalists in Ado-Ekiti, explained that the contract was awarded to Messrs CBC Global Civil and Building Construction Nigeria Limited, with a completion timeline of 24 months starting from March 23, 2026.

Providing further details, Olatunbosun explained that the 56.18kilometre Road would begin from Fajuyi Park in Ado-Ekiti and will be constructed using reinforced concrete from the Police Headquarters in Ado-Ekiti all the way to the Osun State boundary.

According to him, the project has already moved beyond the planning stage, as the site has been handed over to the contractor and construction work has commenced around the Erio-Ekiti axis, reflecting the Federal Government’s commitment to delivering the project on schedule.

Describing the development as a significant boost to the socio-economic growth of Ekiti State and the Southwest region as a whole, Olatunbosun noted that the road served as a critical corridor connecting key parts of the country, and its reconstruction would greatly improve movement, ease transportation challenges, and open up more opportunities for trade and commerce.

He further reaffirmed the commitment of the administration of Biodun Oyebanji to initiatives that drive sustainable development and improve the well-being of the people, noting that the project was one of the gains of the Governor’s frequent engagements and strategic visits to the President and federal establishments in Abuja.

The Commissioner also commended President Bola Tinubu for fulfilling his campaign promises to the people of Ekiti State through impactful infrastructure development.

He appealed to residents, road users, and other stakeholders to cooperate with the contractor and relevant authorities, particularly in managing traffic and observing safety measures throughout the construction period.
