ABUJA (Head of Service Report) – The Federal Government has distributed electronic gadgets to Field Data Collectors and Supervisors on the baseline survey for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the Federal Civil Service.
The gadgets were presented by the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack on Friday, 10th May, 2019 in Abuja.
Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack who was represented by the Director, Occupational Health and Safety Department in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mr. Lawrence Welebe, said the gadgets will go a long way to enhance data collection by those already trained in the workshop organized by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in partnership with the Albino Foundation.
The Disability Desk Officer, Miss. Omotunde Ellen Thompson, said that, the development is in the right direction in line with the Federal Government Change Agenda, to improve the welfare of the Persons Living with Disabilities in the Federal Civil Service.
The distribution of the electronic gadgets came on the heel of the training workshop organized for the Field Data Collectors. The pilot survey of Persons With Disabilities in the Federal Civil Service will cut across all the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and will capture sixteen (16) PWDs per MDA for a span of ten (10) days.
