FG To Partner Nasarawa State To Boost Agriculture

FIC Report (Nasarawa State) – The Federal Government has expressed it’s readiness to partner Nasarawa State Government to invest in Agricultural sector to boost food production and enhance food security in the country.

The Minister of Agriculture and food security, Senator Abubakar Kyari disclose this during an assessment visit to Nasarawa state Government owned rice farm in Jangwa, Awe local Government area of the state recently.

Senator Kyari who was led to the project site by Governor Abdullahi Sule, however said that he is impressed with Nasarawa State Government for keying into the federal government’s Agricultural initiative by investing in its owned rice farm, stressing that the move was inline with president Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope initiative on Agriculture.

The Minister said that some of the impact to be derived from the federal government Agricultural initiative is to boost food production in the country and create employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths inline with the value chain initiative of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu the state.

The Minister called on other state governors across the country to also ensure that they give more priority in Agricultural investment.

Kyari assured Nasarawa State Government for support in providing of fertilizers and farm inputs on other to increase food sufficiency in the state.

Governor Abdullahi in a remark assured of the state Government’s commitment to key into the federal Government initiative towards enhancing food production through Agriculture.

Those who accompanied the minister on the visit includes, Commissioners for Agriculture, Environment, works and land among others.
